  1. Please take the time to read this if you haven't already done so. Also, read the comments that follow the article. Of special interest is the post from Jay Orsi, President/CEO of Three Rivers Title Services concerning Sweet Briar's art collection - noted as "Art Objects" in financials. How did I not know that Sweet Briar owns 1 of 4 original first copies of the Declaration of Independence? Great information coming forth.

    1. Just to clarify: Jay Orsi (above) is referring to the fact that Sweet Briar College owns one of 201 known vellum copies of the Declaration of Independence. John Quincy Adams, when Secretary of State, commissioned William Stone to make copies, which were reproduced via copperplate engraving in 1823.
